We partnered with International Women’s Development Agency in presenting the Women’s Eye on Peace photography Exhibition at Sydney's Tap Gallery, opening on International Women’s Day, March 10th.

We had another resoundingly successful Mardi Gras, culminating in the famous Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday night, 27 February 2010 with some 200 supporters taking their place to march in our float, making it an outstandingly successful turnout on the night.

On 21 February, the NSW Demand Dignity Network held a stall at Marrickville Markets to raise awareness of and support for human rights issues in the Niger Delta.

Team Amnesty took to the water for the 2010 Chinese New Year Dragon Boat Festival and between races garnered signatures and discussed human rights with members of the public.

International Women's Day is a time to celebrate the achievements of women and Amnesty International will be showcasing an exhibition of photographs taken by women around the world.

Thirty-one years ago the Islamic Revolution in Iran transformed Iran into a theocratic state. The anniversary of the Revolution was marked by peaceful protests against the Iranian government's human rights violations of anti-government protesters. Peaceful solidarity events were also held in Canberra and Sydney.
