Branch Committee

The Branch Committee is responsible for governance in the Tasmanian region, which includes leadership and planning in addition to providing guidance and support for activities in the region. The Branch Committee is comprised of elected members of AIA TAS. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month, and are always happy to welcome new members.

AIA Hobart Action Centre

The Tasmanian Action Centre (AC) is the local point of contact between the people of Tasmania and AIA's campaigns.

Amnesty International (AI) is a world wide membership-led movement of over 2.8 million supporters. Our purpose is to defend and promote Human Rights and to raise awareness of Human Rights violations in Australia and throughout the world. Amnesty International Australia (AIA) has 70,000 members and supporters around the country.

We have five staff members in Tasmania, Amy Barrett (Manager of Community Campaigns), Annalisa Rigby (Community Campaigner), Rodney Dillon (Indigenous Campaigner), Zoë Croft (GO Program Coordinator), and Louise Durose (Regional Administration Officer).

There are many ways to get involved in AIA. You can join a group in your local area, or join a specialist network if you have a particular interest or skill. We are very much dependent on our numerous volunteers who dedicate a lot of their free time to working for AIA.

So no matter how much time you have, or what skills you possess, you can contribute to defending Human Rights.
