Why write a letter?

All over the world people are being imprisoned, tortured and murdered because of what they believe. For over 45 years supporters of Amnesty International have taken up the cause of defending these people. They write to governments and military leaders; they contact decision makers; and they write to the prisoners.
Together we make a difference to many people and help save lives. You can show your support for human rights - take action online and add your voice to those who call for a just world.


I hope that Australia is bringing diplomatic pressure to bear in the fight against this prehistoric legislation.
