Destruction of village and forced evictions in Kampot, Cambodia

Three hundred homes were burnt down on 17-18 November by police, military and Forestry Administration officers in Kampot, Cambodia. Villagers were also beaten and remain homeless. Call on the Cambodian authorities to provide immediate emergency relief, alternative accommodation and compensation.

Disappearance of Indigenous rights activist in the Philippines

James Balao, a leading Indigenous rights activists in the Philippines, has disappeared. It is believed that he his being held by state security forces at an unknown location. He may be at risk of torture and other ill-treatment. Call on the Philippine authorities to reveal James Balao's whereabouts, and charge or release him immediately.

The Indonesian government has resumed executions at an alarming rate, going against the United Nations global moratorium on executions. Call on the Australian Government to use its strong relationship with Indonesia to encourage them to suspend all executions and take steps to abolish the death penalty altogether.

Repatriation for Omar Khadr

Omar Khadr has been detained in Guantanamo Bay for six years since the age of 15. His status as a minor has not been recognised and his treatment has violated international human rights standards.
