Download a Nu Wa mask!
Nu Wa is our campaign mascot helping us to pressure the Chinese Government to live up to the promises it made when it bid for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Now you can download a Nu Wa mask or Nu Wa ears to wear at our Great Firewall of China events or at any other event you might be holding.
Like the monkey in traditional Chinese culture, “Nu Wa” – the Uncensor China campaign mascot – is strong willed, cheeky, energetic, sporting and intelligent. Nu Wa means outraged, angry young boy.
Nuwa’s name creates an association with the “Fuwa” – the five official mascots of the Beijing Olympics. Fuwa means “The Friendlies”. Their overly happy and cute demeanor defies the worsening human rights situation inside china today. Nu Wa wants to set the record straight by speaking about the human rights abuses suffered by people in China.

In its bid for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, China promised that it would make life better for its 1.3 billion citizens. China has yet to deliver on its promises and the Olympics are fast approaching. We are demanding the Government live up to that promise and make China a free, fair and open place to live.
We need your help to do it. A lone voice is not enough, but hundreds, thousands, and hopefully millions of people speaking up together can bring change. So join Nu Wa and Amnesty International and speak up for human rights!

Good idea about the mascot. Any chance of providing a jpg version of Nu Wa so that it can be used as a desktop background. I’ve found that having things like displayed on your computer at work results in lots of questions and gives an opportunity to spruke the issues with workmates.

I would prefer the wall be referred to as the cencorship wall. After all the Chinese people are now a modern society
