Blogging around the world
Want to know more about the lives of bloggers in some of the world's most repressive countries, well check out an event Amnesty International is hosting in Sydney this month.
Journalist and author Antony Loewenstein – who has just released a book called 'The Blogging Revolution' – will be interviewed by Fenella Kernebone, from Sunday Arts and ABC at Sydney's The Fringe Bar on 23 October.
In 2007, the author visited China, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Cuba, and while he was there he meet with dissidents, bloggers, writers, politicians and ordinary citizens to talk about how the Internet is changing their countries.
Through first-hand investigations, he reveals the complicity of Western multinationals in assisting with the restriction of information in these countries, and how bloggers are leading the charge for change.

I hope that Australia is bringing diplomatic pressure to bear in the fight against this prehistoric legislation.
