Yang Jia has been executed
27 November 2008, 09:52AM
Yang Jia was found guilty of killing 6 police officers and it is reported that he was executed by lethal injection in Shanghai on Wednesday.
Yang Jia appealed the decision in October but lost his case. There were concerns about the fairness of the trial because one of the lawyers representing Yang Jia had also represented the Zhabei district police, whose officers were killed in the attack Yang Jia was convicted of. There were also psychological factors that Yang Jia's supporters wanted to be given consideration and these were not taken into account by the court.
