Amnesty is using popular social discovery app Tinder to promote women's rights on International Women's Day - and we need your help!
Why spread the message on Tinder?
Tinder is a popular online social discovery app. With one simple swipe you can say 'yes' or 'no' to potential partners or friends.
Unfortunately not all women across the globe have such power of choice.
Gender equality is still a huge issue right across the world. We want to remind people that many women don't have the luxury of choice - and recruit new supporters to join our fight for women's rights across the world.
Okay, so how do I help?
You can help us promote women’s rights on Tinder in three easy steps:
Tinder pulls photos from your Facebook profile, so first you'll need to upload one (or more) of these images to Facebook.
Click to make the image bigger, then select 'save as'.
(Don’t worry, Tinder will only displays your first name and chosen profile picture - and it doesn't alert anyone on Facebook know you've joined)
Download and install the Tinder app onto your smartphone from http://www.gotinder.com/
It’s time to set up your profile.
Open up Tinder, click on the ‘menu’ on the top left > profile > edit.
First we need to make those images we uploaded to Facebook your Tinder profile picture(s):
Then, add this text to your ‘about me’ section:
Amnesty stands up for women’s rights, will you? www.makethechoice.com.au
And that's it! Simple. Your profile should now look like this:
