This year we are asking you to organise or participate in an event to show your ongoing commitment to ending violence against women and embrace this year’s theme, Commit – Act – Demand: We CAN End Violence against Women!

Over the past 5 years Amnesty International WA and the Women’s Council have worked collaboratively to co-ordinate a state-wide Calendar of Events for the 16 days. We encourage groups to focus their planning for the 16 Days of Activism on events and activities that assist to end violence against women and children and to support Women Human Rights Defenders. Your contribution will show that on a community level we can and do make a difference.

Your event can be as grand or simple as you like. The Womens Council website has information about previous events held that may assist you in putting together your own event. So use the website or liaise with other participants and show you are prepared to Commit, Act and Demand.
