The Annual Oration has been established to provide an opportunity to showcase ARA and the place it holds in the community thereby raising public awareness of:

  • The value of refugees and migrants to the Australian community
  • The issues that refugees and migrants face in the settlement process
  • The situations and conditions refugees are fleeing from their homes and homelands
  • The international and national processes that relate to asylum seekers and those with refugee status

    The inaugural event is to be held on 24 March, 2010 in the Allan Scott Auditorium at UniSA City West Campus at 6:45pm to hear Mr Hieu Van Le's oration titled "Something to Crow About"

    Mr Hieu Van Le AO - Lieutenant Governor of South Australia, Chairman of the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission and a former refugee - will discuss his vision of South Australia in 2036 when it celebrates its bicentenary.

    There is no charge for tickets but a tax deductible donation is invited.
