The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia is an international day calling for the end to violence and the criminalisation of people on the basis of their sexual orientation, their gender identity, and/or their sex difference.

This vigil will commemorate our community heroes. People are invited to bring images of their community heroes that have experienced this type of violence and vilification to stand alongside the images of Harvey Milk, David Kato, Sylvia Riviera, Brandon Teena, Matthew Shepard, and Veronica Baxter.

This event is to help raise the profile of homohobic and transphobic violence as a global phenomenon, and one that begins in our back yard.
