Join the global action by taking part locally

4 October 2007, 04:33PM

Amnesty International, in partnership with other organisations worldwide, has called for a second round of global action this weekend.

Join the call for an end to attacks on protestors in Myanmar (Burma) and the immediate release of those detained for participation in peaceful assemblies, unless they are charged with a recognisably criminal offence. All prisoners of conscience must also be released and call on the United Nations to take action now.

It is a shame that we are all celebrating our economic bubbles, and greedily and happily exploiting the earth here and there, while letting other members of humankind suffering that extent of poverty and inhumanity.
