Timo Mueller on why he decided to take action.
Timo Mueller, on his own, initiated a campaign calling it "Cycling for human rights". On 1st April 2006 Timo embarked on a charity cycling trip from Germany overland to Australia across 15 countries, as a demonstration of solidarity for the work of all human rights defenders and victims of human rights violations around the world.
On his 420 day-long adventure Timo committed to highlight the plight of those who suffer human rights exploitations by helping to raise awareness in the wider public. He has received wide media coverage in Poland, Russia and Mongolia as well as dozens of newspaper articles in Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and especially Germany.

Timo's journey
Timo worked in conjuction with several Amnesty International sections, participating in press conferences, and meeting with the consuls-general of Germany in Bangkok and Sydney. He also visited a refugee camp near Myanmar to do his best to defend human rights.
By cycling solo the 21,000 kilometres Timo intends to raise the monetary equivalent which will go entirely towards the work of Amnesty International. To this day he has already inspired donations to the tune of 16,500 Euros.
