Where:
Sydney University, Eastern Ave, Lecture Theatre T101, Building F10, New Law School, Camperdown, NSW

As part of Refugee Week, Amnesty International and NSW Young Lawyers invite you to a (free) lighthearted discussion about the current views towards refugee arrivals in Australia, focussing on the two ironic lines from the second verse of the Australian national anthem: “For those who’ve come across the seas, we’ve boundless plains to share.”

The forum will be facilitated by respected former ABC journalist, John Highfield. Speakers include:

  • Professor Mary Crock Professor of Public Law, University of Sydney
  • Shane Prince, Barrister and Co-convenor of Labor for Refugees
  • Lisa Pryor, Author 'The Pin Striped Prison' and Sydney Morning Herald Columnist
  • Debbie Whitmont, Journalist, Four Corners, ABC
  • Dr Graham Thom, Amnesty International Australia's Refugee Coordinator.

For further information call Amnesty on (02) 8396 7670 or visit http://www.law.usyd.edu.au/about/campus.shtml for information on parking and getting there.

Please RSVP to nswrefugeeteam@amnesty.org.au to confirm your attendance as places are limited.
