More than 60 years after World War II and the 200,000 'comfort women' who were forced into sexual slavery by Japanese soldiers have still not received an adequate apology, let alone compensation, from the Japanese Government. Why not take the opportunity to visit our Comfort Women stall at the University of New England and show your support by signing a butterfly - the chosen symbol of hope for the Comfort Women. Every butterfly signed will be sent to Prime Minister Rudd on 15 August - the anniversary of World War II. Help make sure that the PM gets the message to pass a motion calling on the Japanese Government to apologise and compensate the Comfort Women. For more information about this event, email Chris Cull, Convenor of the Armidale Action Group. You can read more about comfort women and the associated campaign here.
