‘To understand the present – we must understand the past’.
As part of the Demand Dignity Campaign, Amnesty International Australia will be hosting a one-day workshop on 3 October for all interested convenors, volunteers and activists. This interactive workshop will be presented by Grant Sarra who has spent twenty-six years of his life working exclusively with Indigenous people in Australia. He has developed a detailed knowledge and understanding of the issues that impact upon Indigenous Australians.
The workshop will help participants gain a greater understanding of the history of Indigenous Australians and what it is like to be an Indigenous Australian. It will be a valuable learning experience and we are encouraging everyone to attend. It is important that you confirm your attendance by 11 September as places are limited. For more information or to RSVP please email Courtney Payne at courtney.payne@amnesty.org.au. In the event that you are not able to attend the 31 October workshop, we may be able to run another session, numbers permitting.
Please pass on the details of this event to your network of volunteers and activists.
