Amnesty Forest Group in action
The Forest Group of Amnesty International was formed in 1989, so this year we celebrate our 20th birthday!
The celebration will take the form of a Generation/Regeneration Picnic-Party. It’s a Generation Party because we are celebrating 20 years of Amnesty work in our area. It is a Regeneration Party to ensure there will be members celebrating its 40th birthday in 2029.
We’d love you to join us on Sunday 22 November to just celebrate this facet of Amnesty’s work and the amazing results it can achieve. Everyone is welcome.
The Peace Park and Old School House are on the corner of the Wakehurst Parkway and Dreadnought Road. We will have the use of the hall and the picnic areas outside. We’d ask you to bring your own picnic food and drink. We’ll supply hot water, tea and coffee and, of course, the birthday cake! There’ll be information on the history of the Forest Group and on our current campaigns and activities. There’ll be letters, petitions and postcards for you to sign and lots of people to talk to about the group.
If you are interested in attending or would appreciate further information, please contact either:
- Tim Ash, Convenor. Tel: 0408 215 220, Email: ashfam@bigpond.net.au or
- Carie Smith, Event Coordinator. Tel: 0403 609 014.
We’d be delighted to meet you on Sunday 22 of November.
