Central Coast
We write letters and campaign on a broad range of human rights issues. We are a diverse group from the local community who are always looking for new members.
The group is open to people who live on the Central Coast. The group is made up of active, passionate, committed people. Anyone who would like to be involved is encouraged to join.
The group is involved in:
- Conducting meetings
- Running stalls
- Handing out flyers
- Running petitions
- Public speaking
- Speaking to local media
- Participating in government enquiries
- Writing letters.
The group has held stalls at:
- Gosford Waterfront as part of Gosford’s Australia Day celebrations
- GOATS (Going Of At The Swamp) Festival at San Remo
- Gosford Regional Show at the Gosford Showground
- Green Point Community Centre as part of Refugee Week.
The group has also participated in the Amnesty International dragon boat team in the Chinese Dragon Boat Races on Darling Harbour as part of Chinese New Year celebrations.
The group is currently running a human rights essay competition for high school students, called the Harry Boyle Memorial Human Rights Essay Competition and an arts competition which is open to all ages, called the Beryl Collier Human Rights Art Competition.
