Stall at October's Granny Smith Festival, a regular fixture on the group's calendar
We are a small but long-lived group who meet on the first Wednesday of every month.
Celebrating the group's 25th anniversary

About Us:
We are a small but long-lived group who celebrated our 26th anniversary in April 2009. Members participate in the ways that suit them best. Some come to our meetings, held on the first Wednesday of every month. Others prefer to volunteer at our stalls and other events.
What we've been up to:
In 2009 we are working on an action file, making the case of an unjustly tried indigenous prisoner in Mexico a focus for our activities. One of our members has strong background knowledge of Sri Lanka and is informing our group about human rights issues in that country. Several members of our group are actively involved in refugee support and advocacy, including volunteering for the Refugee Education Program supported by the University of Sydney.
Granny Smith Festival Stall
Granny Smith is a popular community festival held every October in Eastwood. We run a stall at this annual event, raising awareness about Amnesty through speaking with the community and letter writing. We also sell Amnesty cards and secondhand books. In 2008 approximately 1,000 people visited our stall. Volunteers who wish to help on the the stall or go out and chat to people about human rights are very welcome and can contact the convenor, Ian Massingham.
