Newcastle
Our group is involved in writing letters and campaigning on a broad range of human rights issues.
Our core group is small, but we have a larger mailing list of people who like to remain in touch with Amnesty actions and our group's activities and events. We welcome all who would like to join this group whether or not they are able to attend meetings.
We've been particularly involved in work surrounding the Stop Violence Against Women campaign, David Hicks and the rights of refugees. Over the next year we will become increasingly involved in the Human Dignity campaign and Indigenous rights, and will hold a petition signing/letter writing stall on the 3rd Saturday of each month at Newcastle Foreshore.
We Meet:
The Newcastle group meets at 6.30pm on the first Thursday of each month at the homes of members. Please contact either Carol on 0416 049 178 or Lianne on 0416 049 178. Alternatively email newcastleamnesty@hotmail.com for details of the exact meeting location. We have a diverse and exciting group of people and always welcome new members. Feel free to bring along your passion and new ideas, we would love to include you.
