NSW Refugee Network
We are a group of volunteer grassroots activists who are deeply concerned with issues affecting asylum seekers and refugees.
It is a complex, and often heated, area of policy debate that can be clouded by misconceptions and misunderstandings. The politicisation of asylum seekers has led to much frustration and disappointment within the community. However, there is an ever-growing movement of passionate people looking to get involved and raise awareness of refugee rights in a positive way.
If you’re looking to share ideas with a group of like-minded people, from all walks of life, come along to one of our meetings!
What we do
We meet and hold events to share opinions, news and ideas for campaigning on issues affecting asylum seekers and refugees both in Australia, and globally. Our activities are limited only by our creativity! We are always on the lookout for new ways to raise awareness in the community, and share positive stories about refugees.
Amnesty International Australia has a broader National Refugee Team made up of networks around the country. We regularly collaborate by sharing resources, ideas and events online. Our group also enjoys partnering with other Amnesty groups and community organisations on events from film nights to forums (with a sports festival thrown in!)

Amnesty International is running a global campaign for countries to take in more Syrian refugees. The goal for Australia is 10,000 more than our current humanitarian intake.
