The National Refugee Team is holding a video conference at 1pm (EST) on Saturday 18 February (12pm QLD; 12:30pm SA; 10am WA).

Key speakers will discuss the issues and difficulties refugees experience both in Australia and when fleeing their home countries.

Speakers include:

• Sonia Caton is an immigration lawyer, board member of the Refugee Council of Australia and former director of the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service. Sonia will talk about the 2011 High Court decisions and their impact on refugee issues.
• Dianne Hiles is a founding member of ChilOut who has worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the organisation for over 10 years. In 2010 Dianne received an Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her contribution to human rights in Australia. Dianne has a Masters degree in Human Rights and was CEO of the Evatt Foundation.
