The singer, a longstanding supporter of the human rights organisation, is backing Amnesty’s campaigning on the region. Amnesty volunteers will be on hand at the concerts to give out campaigning literature and discuss the issues.

The Wall Live show is set to tour Australia and New Zealand before continuing in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.

The show will be in Brisbane at the Entertainment Centre on Wednesday 1, Thursday 2 and Saturday 4 February - details here

“It’s very important to me to have Amnesty along on this tour talking about the dramatic events in the Middle East and North Africa,” Roger Waters said.

”In some small way, I want to ensure that people who come to The Wall Live take away a sense that human rights matter and barriers between people and their rights need to be torn down.”
