Refugee and Asylum Seekers Campaign Team (QLD/NNSW)

Millions of people around the world flee persecution and conflict in their homelands to seek asylum in other countries and rebuild their lives.

The refugee network works on issues surrounding refugees and asylum seekers, both inside Australia and overseas. Our main focus for 2009 will be campaigning for the closure of the Christmas Island detention facility and ending the practice of excision in Australia.

Plans for 2009:

We are planning a series of workshops to educate the public about Refugee and Asylum Seeker issues in light of recent policy changes in Australia.
