Activist Support Team (QLD/NNSW)

The activist support team is integral to ensuring that regional Amnesty International activists are supported through resources, empowered through training and information, and are challenged by and engaged in protecting human rights.

Activist team members:

• Write to new members about local groups and campaigns.
• Research issues and campaigns.
• Develop monthly actions briefs for action groups and individuals.
• Maintain a regional calendar of all events and actions.
• Provide resources to action groups.
• Respond to emails and requests for advice.
• Develop resources and guides for local groups.

Practically, this team provides support and assistance to local and campus based action groups.

• local group survey
• current campaign packets.

Plans for 2009:

• updated local group manual
• revised group start-up manual.

Meetings:

Every other Friday at 2 pm
