Update on Group 78 in Cambodia
- Published on 20/05/2009
On 18th of May Amnesty International Australia got some further information on the plight of the residents of Group 78 in Cambodia, who as yet, have not been evicted from their homes.
The Phnom Penh Court dismissed their request for an injunction to stop the forced eviction of Group 78 while holding a closed hearing where community reps were not allowed to attend. Group 78 has filed for a second application to the court to overturn the forced evictions on the grounds of illegality. This hearing is yet to happen.
