Tasmania will “Demand Dignity”
- Published on 28/05/2009

On May 28th, the Hobart Action center celebrated Amnesty International's 48th Birthday with the launch of the new Demand Dignity campaign.
What an exciting time for all human rights activists as the Demand Dignity campaign comprises the 3 main areas of focus which will be Amnesty's priority for the next 7 years:
*Maternal Mortality
*Corporation Accountability
*Shelter
"Human Rights = Less Poverty" is the main concept which runs behind these three components of the campaign. Amnesty views poverty as a human rights issue and by addressing rights related to deprivation, insecurity, exclusion, and voicelessness, the Demand Dignity campaign will promote human rights for the world's poor.
