On the 14th of May 2011, students from various Hobart schools & Amnesty International held a rally on Parliament House lawns in support of refugees.

The rally for refugees included students from Ogilvie High School, Sacred Heart College and Friends School, and was a collaborative effort between the Schools Justice Action Network and Amnesty International.

On the day we heard from various refugees speaking about their journey to Australia and their feelings and ideas on the refugee experience.

Also, there were many performances from local musicians, along the theme of the plight of refugees.

Overall it was a very successful day.
