At Amnesty International in Hobart we are constantly looking for new volunteers to help us with our important work. We welcome anyone, with whatever skills they may bring to the workplace, as there is always plenty to do!

Australian of the Year speaks on refugees and mental health
Amnesty International Tasmania celebrated an exciting first on 10 December 2011 when they launched the inaugural Human Rights Day lecture at University of Tasmania's Sandy Bay campus, featuring 2010 Australian of the Year Professor Patrick McGorry.

On 1 September 2011 Amnesty International, together with Support Association for Women of Afghanistan (SAWA), hosted visiting Afghan speaker Malalai Joya to speak on the current position of women in Afghanistan.

On Friday 9 December 2011 the Tasmanian action centre held another successful Human Rights Week march, for our usual celebration of Human Rights Week.
