In 2011 Amnesty International is turning 50, to celebrate we need your help organising events, forming groups and in the Action Centre. Join us, come in and meet us there are so many ways to help.

Amnesty now has its own radio show on EDGE Radio 99.3 FM
"Radio Amnesty", a weekly radio show concerning itself with all things Human Rights, can be heard Saturdays at 2pm on local broadcaster EDGE Radio 99.3 FM.

Volunteers Needed
NAGM Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for Amnesty International’s National Annual General Meeting. This exciting opportunity to meet activists and staff from all over the country lasts a weekend (9th – 11th July) and is a great way to see how Amnesty International Australia works.
Salamanca Stall
Volunteers are needed to help out at the Amnesty International stall at the Salamanca markets. If you can spare a two hours on a Saturday about every other month, then please join our roster.
Successful Refugee Vigil held last Friday
Last Friday we carried out a vigil in response to the Australian government’s suspension of the processing of new asylum claims by Afghan and Sri Lankan nationals. It turned out to be a huge success.

Accommodation needed for NAGM attendees
This year’s NAGM will be held in Hobart on 9th-11th July. In an effort to keep costs down and ensure as many activists and volunteers who want to attend can, we’re asking people if they would be willing to let an activist stay in their spare room
