This is the perfect opportunity to meet the rest of the newly formed team to discuss global poverty and Amnesty's campaign tailored at issues around dignity.
AIA's Demand Dignity Team members will hold monthly meetings and events to discuss and take action on the human rights abuses associated with poverty.
We believe the poor are not poor because they have no natural resources or their country was the victim of a natural disaster. Someone is probably making money off their misery - and it is probably a government, coporation or individual from the rich part of the world.
The DD Team will conduct development research, increase awareness-raising through public profile activities and take action for people suffering from the exclusion and voicelessness forced upon them by poverty.
If you would like to get involved, please email me or attend this meeting.
If you have time, please visit www.amnesty.org.au and follow the links to read about the campaign's current focus of unlawful evictions of Cambodians from land commonly known as Group 78.
