Urgent Actions Network (Vic)
The Urgent Actions Network is one of the Victorian Branch's most established networks, going back to around the founding of the Branch in 1963.
Want to take action on human rights?
The Urgent Action Network receives Urgent Action appeals every week from our International Secretariat in London
and asks network members to write on behalf of the prisoners or situations concerned. Different appeals arrive throughout the week and are processed on Thursday. At present there are over 300 writers; but more are always welcome.
Do Urgent Actions actually work? Yes!
A past review of the effectiveness of Urgent Actions found that overr 25% of the UA Appeals issued since 1993 achieved their primary objective. The percentage rises even higher if secondary outcomes are taken into account. For recent good news outcomes, visit http://www.amnesty.org.au/success/
