Fight for an end to poverty - ARTillery 2009 © AIA
There is no long-term solution to poverty without human rights. Fight for an end to poverty!
If you are like most people, your life is overflowing with an abundance of STUFF. Is poverty the opposite of this? Poverty encompasses so much more than limited possession; poverty deprives people of their dignity. This December, get rid of junk you no longer need, discover other’s unwanted gems and watch discarded STUFF become a politically charged artwork…
MasterPEACE is a one week progressive exhibition, beginning with a free STUFF SWAP opening party and ending with an EXHIBITION SHOWCASE closing party. The five days in between will see the art space inhabited by 10 artists, who will use the remaining unwanted junk in an artistic exploration of what it could mean to DEMAND DIGNITY.
MasterPEACE will take place at Banknotes Arts Space during the 2009 ARTillery Youth Arts Festival. The art space will be open throughout the week and the public are firmly encouraged to pop in and observe the process of investigation, creation and installation.
Opening Party: Fri 4th December 7pm
Gallery Open: Sat-Wed 1pm-6pm
Closing Party: Thurs 10th December 7pm
