Mount Lawley

Group meeting at the Dome Cafe

Mount Lawley Group

About Us

This is a long-standing group of motivated individuals who live in Mount Lawley and surrounding suburbs. They come together regularly to discuss local and global human rights issues and to plan, initiate and take action to address those issues.

Some of Ways They Are Taking Action
This group meets monthly at a café to write letters on urgent cases and/or issues. They organise activities including supporting individuals at risk by taking responsibility for an Amnesty case file, organising displays at local libraries, hosting talks on important issues, partnering with other campaign or local groups on specific issues, and holding stalls. Recent activities include organising a well-attended presentation on human rights challenges in the Middle East.

Where and When

Group members meet at 6pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month to write letters, to discuss current issues and plan activities.

Meetings are held at the Dome Café, Maylands (Railway Parade on the corner of Eighth Avenue, opposite the Mount Lawley train station)
