The National Human Rights Consultation Committee has recommended that the Government introduce a Human Rights Act for Australia.

This was thanks to an overwhelming majority of Australians who took part in the country's biggest ever public consultation. Over 80% of the 35,000 individual submissions said they wanted a Human Rights Act that protects the rights of all Australians. That's a clear and direct call that our Government cannot ignore.

What next? We want our Government to take the key recommendation of the report and act on it to implement a National Human Rights Act, without delay.

We need your help to make sure this happens. You can get behind our calls to the Government through Twitter, Facebook and this website - check out the options below and keep coming back for the latest news and updates.

Ask Frank a question

On 14 October, Consultation Committee Chair Father Frank Brennan SJ AO spoke on the public consultation process at the Canberra Press Club. After his presentation, Jenny Leong sat down with Frank for an informal chat and to ask him some questions on behalf of our supporters. Jump to our Ask Frank a question page to see the questions submitted by people to Frank. Video from Frank and Jenny's chat will be posted soon.
