The Queensland Government is trying to bring in a Bill to create amendments to the Youth Justice Act that will see entrenched reoffending, and more kids locked up in prisons.

This Bill creates a presumption against bail that will prevent kids from participating in the diversion and preventative programs that we know have a proven track record of addressing the root causes of crime, and having a positive and meaningful impact on their lives.

Locking up kids is not the solution to youth crime.

Send a letter to your local newspaper editor to let people know that these amendments will make it almost impossible for these kids to rehabilitate and redirect themselves.

If we can change the conversation, we can pressure politicians to reject the Bill. Send your letter to the editor now.
