January 26 marks the colonisation of Australia and the grief, heartache and pain that this has inflicted on First Nations people for generations. It is also a moment to recognise the ongoing survival of the oldest existing culture in the world today.
Activists are encouraged to attend your local Invasion/Survival day event this Thursday, January 26. A list of all Invasion/Survival day events that we are aware of can be found here. This list will continue to be updated, if there is an event you are aware of that isn’t listed please let me know.
For activists located in Naarm, Meanjin, or on Gadigal land there is an opportunity to attend rallies as part of an Amnesty International Australia contingent in collaboration with staff. If you would like to join Amnesty contingents in these regions please register at the appropriate link below to receive details.
