Why Fundraise for Amnesty?
By organising a fundraising event you will be supporting the work of Amnesty International all over the world. The money you raise will provide essential funding for reporting and addressing human rights abuses accurately, quickly and persistently. See the amazing things your money can do.
Take part in a Team Amnesty event to raise funds and protect human rights. You can sign up for a local fun run as a team, host a morning 'AmnesTEA' in the office, or even take part in an overseas challenge.
How you can get involved
For really adventurous fundraisers, you can join Team Amnesty
for a ‘fundraising adventure challenge’.
Push yourself to achieve feats you never thought possible, such as the New York Marathon, Climb Kilimanjaro or Cycle Cambodia. You will still organise local events to raise funds, but by participating in a challenge you will give people extra incentive to donate and push your own personal boundaries.
Are you game?
Approach friends and family directly to sponsor your efforts in an adventure challenge or ask your employer to consider dollar matching the funds you raise. If a 42km run sounds like a bit of a stretch, try getting involved in your local fun run, or cycle event. Most states hold local events where you can walk, jog or run anywhere from 3km-21km (half marathon).
Similarly, lots of local spring/summer events encourage team participation in swimathons or triathlons. Some of the events you can get involved in are here, or check your local area.
If you want to fundraise for us but don’t want to deal with the blisters, try a dinner party, a film screening, trivia night, or BBQ with proceeds from the $1 snags going towards protecting human rights.
