Meet our leaders
Our Senior Leadership Team
Meet Amnesty International Australia's leadership team.
The National Board is our highest-decision making body and is elected bi-annually by members. The Board provides governance, leadership and stewardship as part of a global movement of human rights defenders. Learn more about how the Board is run.
Amnesty has seven regional branches, each led by a Branch Committee comprised of our members. Branch Committees are elected at regional Branch Annual General Meetings (BAGM) and hold the leadership and governance responsibilities in the regions.
Branch Committees help motivate, coordinate and develop local human rights activism. They mentor and support activists and action groups, and participate in consultations on our vision, campaign priorities and policies.
Branch Committees have up to 12 members, including a Regional Representative who is also a member of the National Board. All Amnesty members are eligible to stand for election and to vote for their local Branch Committee. You can get in touch with your committee through your local action centre.
