Stand up for women's rights at your uni's O-Week

For 2018 university O-weeks, Amnesty campus groups can promote women’s rights and help end online violence against women.

The issue

Online abuse and violence against women is escalating, stifling women’s right to freedom of expression.

The goal

We want social media platforms to be a safe space where women are able to express themselves freely, equally and without fear.

What you can do

Campus groups can hold stalls at their university’s O-weeks to raise awareness about the issue and encourage uni students to sign a petition. Activists are encouraged to make their stall fun and creative with a giant social-media photo frame and hand-held emojis for photos!

Grab a giant insta frame! (gasp emoji)

Please email your Activism support coordinator / community organiser / action centre for access to our giant insta frame template. You can then type in your own group name,  captions and hashtags into the file. We’ll also give you print and assembly instructions (or give you a hand with printing it in the action centre).

It will look something like this:
