Climate Cultivators: Expressions of interest

Become a leader in human rights-based climate action

Are you passionate about climate action and human rights? Want to step up as a leader in the Amnesty movement?

We are excited to share that Amnesty Australia is now accepting expressions of interest for our newly launched Climate Cultivators’ program!

This is a unique opportunity for up to 10 dedicated volunteers to help develop and drive the future of Amnesty’s work on human rights-based climate action.

As a Climate Cultivator, you will:

• Help shape the five-year plan for Amnesty’s campaign on human rights-based climate action
• Be part of the core leadership team of Amnesty activists on climate
• Connect with like-minded climate activist leaders
• Be invited to participate in detailed campaign planning, and
• Learn from Amnesty’s expert campaigns team in Australia and internationally

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

What’s involved?

Amnesty International Australia is committed to dedicated campaigning on climate and human rights over the next five years. To do this, we need core leaders from across the country to lead our campaign development.

How will we stand with frontline and Indigenous communities defending their lands and rights in the face of fossil fuel extraction and climate destruction?

How can we safeguard the protest rights of climate activists?

How can we campaign for big polluters and fossil fuel companies to pay for communities to adapt to climate impacts and secure an urgent and equitable phase out of fossil fuels?

As a Climate Cultivator, you will be part of the core team answering these questions.

We’re looking for leaders who represent the diversity of the Australian population. First Nations peoples, young people, people of colour and people with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.

Climate Cultivators will ideally be available to contribute to the program during January, February and March 2026. We understand everyone has different life commitments and availability, so we’ll work with Cultivators individually to find the contribution balance that is right for you. If you are unsure about how much time you can contribute but are still interested in the program, we would love to hear from you.
