We defend our most fundamental human rights
Amnesty has grown from seeking the release of political prisoners to upholding the whole range of human rights. Our work protects and empowers people - from abolishing the death penalty to protecting sexual and reproductive rights, and from combatting discrimination to defending refugee rights. We speak out for anyone and everyone whose freedom and dignity are under threat.
When human rights are denied, we won’t be silent. We’ll continue to campaign relentlessly – both at home and all over the world – to give a voice to those who’ve had theirs taken away. See the map below for all of the cases Amnesty Australia is demanding change on around the world. Please add your voice.
How we protect human rights
We campaign on a wide range of issues to protect and defend human rights, both within Australia and across the globe.
