Together, we will not be silenced
Yesterday, people power won. Humanity won. Together, we showed the world that we will not be silenced.
In a historic demonstration of people power, tens of thousands came together for the Palestine Action Group’s March for Humanity to demand action from our leaders and the world.
Despite NSW Police attempting to have the protest denied, Justice Rigg of the Supreme Court of NSW delivered her judgement for the protest to go ahead, citing Amnesty International’s endorsement as part of her reasoning.
People power works
For 22 months, Amnesty supporters have continued to demand an end to the Gaza Genocide, and we are beginning to see progress.
Last night, Foreign Minister Wong announced a further $20 million for food and aid for Palestinians in Gaza, bringing the government’s total contribution to $130 million. Prime Minister Albanese is now seeking a phone call with Netanyahu to make our demands known.

Mohamed Duar, Amnesty International Australia’s Occupied Palestinian Spokesperson was asked to speak before the March, alongside Dr Randa Abdel Fattah, Tani Safi who just returned from the Freedom Flotilla, Craig Foster AM and Senator Mehreen Faruqi. They were joined by Lord Mayor Clover Moore AO, as well as Julian Assange and his family.
The March for Humanity has been broadcast around the globe, seen by Palestinians in Gaza who know they are not alone.
Thank you for standing in solidarity with the courageous Palestinian activists leading the fight for freedom, justice, and equality.
Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 10 million people who take injustice personally. We are campaigning for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all – and we can only do it with your support.
