24 August National Day of Action: Join the Nationwide March for Palestine

Australia made history. Now let’s keep up the pressure

In the past month, our movement has shown Australia, and the world, that we will not be silenced.

From endorsing the historic March for Humanity, where over 300,000 marched in defiance and hope, to standing on the lawns of Parliament House for 24 hours reading the names of more than 17,000 children killed in the Voices for Gaza vigil, we have made it impossible for our leaders to look away.

Join us again this Sunday, 24 August, at rallies across the country to demand actions, not words from the Australian Government.

We have met face-to-face with 17 MPs and Senators, including Senator Fatima Payman, Ed Husic MP, Mike Freelander MP, Peter Khalil MP, Senator David Pocock, Senator David Shoebridge, Helen Haines MP, Zali Steggall MP and Monique Ryan MP.

We’ve filled Canberra with our message from billboards and airport screens to mobile trucks, radio and TV demanding actions, not words. Over 20,000 of you have signed our petition which was tabled in Parliament by Senator Fatima Payman, more than 7,000 have emailed your representatives, and our activists have kept the momentum alive with weekly rallies and local events across the country.

But our work is far from over. We can’t stop now as Israel plans to fully occupy Gaza

This Sunday, 24 August, communities across Australia will gather for a National Day of Action to demand our government not risk complicity in Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

These rallies are led by the Palestine Action Group and endorsed by Amnesty International Australia.

Because of your sustained pressure, we have already seen change

In just the past few months:

  • The Prime Minister publicly acknowledged Israel is ‘quite clearly’ breaching international law.
  • The Government added $20 million to Gaza aid, bringing the total to $130 million.
  • Foreign Minister Penny Wong confirmed that Australia is part of the F-35 fighter jet supply chain that supports Israel’s F-35s.
  • Australia co-signed an international statement reaffirming a two-state solution and inviting broader global support.

Together, we have made history.

Now, let’s keep the pressure on until our leaders match their words with the decisive action Palestinians deserve.

We need actions not words. Call on the Australian Government to stop fuelling Genocide in Gaza.
