The ACT is the first jurisdiction in Australia to make a commitment to bring its laws in line with UN standards.

Now it’s time for the rest of the country to follow this leadership. The longer jurisdictions wait, the longer little kids are exposed to the harmful conditions of prison.

If the government can form and resource a Working Group with a deadline of 6 months to report back, then that’s a big step towards kids not being locked up.

We can’t allow another year to pass and for more children to be caught up in the quicksand of the justice system.

Please join us in making sure that the Federal Attorney-General acts sooner rather than later on raising the age of criminal responsibility. Call on Christian Porter to raise the age as soon as possible.
