The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and Amnesty International are proud to host Finding Freedom at Jugglers Art Space in Fortitude Valley for Refugee Week 2017.

Finding Freedom will celebrate the artistic achievements of people seeking asylum, and offer a different perspective on the debate around people seeking asylum.

We all share common values of family, freedom and fairness, but our government chooses to deny people their basic rights, instead of creating a fair process, and giving people a fair go.

The exhibition aims to provide a vision of what we can be as a country, and of the world we can create for people seeking asylum. For us, that means a place of peace that provides safety for children, and allows people seeking safety to flourish in our country and in our community.

The exhibition will be open between 10:00am and 4:00pm from the 13th to the 20th of June. There are two special events over the week where you can come along, and celebrate a fairer world, with us!

  • Opening night celebrations are between 6:00 and 9:00pm on Friday the 16th of June!
  • Come and meet the artists, listen to some live music, and learn about the artworks and how , on Sunday June 18th, between 4:00 and 7:00pm.

Email us for more details, or if you’re interested in volunteering at the event, as we’re always after helping hands!
