Come along and share in a Lebanese banquet while we write letters on behalf of urgent Amnesty cases. We will also celebrate our 2016 achievements and provide a chance to socialise and relax.

Write for Rights is Amnesty International’s annual letter writing campaign, which happens in November and December each year, around the world.

We write to protest the situation of those whose human rights have been attacked. A simple action like a letter of solidarity or a letter to a government official, when sent en masse, can have a huge impact.

Every year, real change happens because of your letters and actions. People wrongfully imprisoned are released. Torturers are brought to justice. And people in prison are treated more humanely.

Our annual Write for Rights will, for the second time, be held cooperatively between Amnesty St George and Amnesty Sutherland Shire. Over dinner, we will write letters on behalf of 9 urgent global cases, as well as enjoy fellowship and celebrate what our groups achieved in 2016.

We encourage our members and supporters to attend if they can, because we believe that letter writing is still at the heart of Amnesty’s work.
