Join Darwin Amnesty International at the Brown’s Mart Theatre for a screening of the musical documentary ‘Prison Song’s!

The inmates of Darwin’s Berrimah Prison, 80% of whom are indigenous, share their feelings, faults and experiences in the most extraordinary way – through songs. Come along and meet like minded people, find out about Amnesty’s “Community is Everything” campaign addressing the overrepresentation of young Aboriginal kids in prison.
Get active and sign our petition to end this situation!

“Prison Songs conveys the brutal reality of prison life with a clarity and intimacy not usually found in Australian prison stories or, particularly, those portraying indigenous lives…the result is well-written, often-poignant lyrics, great music. It is a shocking story told first hand, but, most surprisingly – and powerfully – it’s lots of fun to watch.”
