Write a letter and change a life. Join Amnesty supporters in the Canberra region to write letters in support of people facing imprisonment, torture, and even execution.

The ACT/SNSW Action Group will be holding a letter writing event at Amnesty International, 33 Ainslie Place Canberra, between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, on the 6th of December. Nibbles, tea and coffee will be provided.

Letter writing has been a part of Amnesty International’s work for over 40 years, and is based on a simple idea: when someone is in imminent danger of serious human rights violations, the authorities responsible are flooded with thousands of letters from across the world letting them know the world is watching.

That simple idea works, and over the last 40 years, people all around the world have been freed from prison, from the simple act of putting pen to paper.

So join Amnesty ACT/SNSW and write a letter to change a life this December.
