Enjoy some awesome BBQ eats while learning about how you can get involved in Amnesty activism on campus.

Students of JCU, come and join Amnesty International’s JCU Townsville action group at their BBQ on May 22 at 11:00am!

Come hang out and eat with some of our volunteers and members. Chat with some new people and learn about what you can do to protect and promote human rights, and what we do at JCU Amnesty!

We will have all the information on the latest national and international campaigns including:

  • what we can do to improve the rights of refugees on Manus and Naru Island detention centres,
  • to end the over representation of Indigenous kids in Queensland’s youth justice system,
  • how we can end child labour on palm oil plantations in Indonesia,
  • and end the use of the death penalty for good,

These are important issues Amnesty works on to protect and empower people. So if you have a passion for human rights and want to know about more ways to get involved with JCU Amnesty, come by our BBQ!
